Bobbed through waves of gratification today as I discovered someone who shares my sentiment about Denis Johnson: Jesus’ Son? Emphatic Yay. Tree of Smoke? Soporific Nay.

It’s just like when that lone spirit agreed with me the other night at Verlaine that Elizabeth Taylor was never really that amazingly pretty. Two adherents make it a fact!

At last, I am vindicated, on both counts.
